Digital postal company’s newest tech provides unprecedented visibility to customers
Ahead of World Post Day on 9 October, Postworks launched ClearSend®, giving businesses more visibility over the letters they send.
ClearSend® provides certified proof of postage into the Royal Mail network at no extra cost. Postworks is the only postal provider to offer this.
Instead of sending an important letter and wondering what happened next, customers can see postage information in their dedicated online Postworks dashboard.
How ClearSend® gives businesses certified proof of postage
Alongside visibility of the Postworks fulfilment process, ClearSend® records Royal Mail’s confirmation of when and where an item entered its network, including a date and time stamp.
This gives each letter a certified proof of postage record, showing that it has been scanned by Royal Mail and passed into the delivery network.
Proof of postage confirms that an item entered the postal network. It does not prove that the letter was delivered to its recipient.
For businesses sending important postal communications, having that information available in one place makes it easier to check records without chasing paperwork or searching through separate systems.
More visibility when sending business post online
Royal Mail had previously provided this data to mailing companies, but it was not usually visible to the businesses sending the letters.
Postworks developed ClearSend® to make that information available to customers through the online Postworks dashboard.
This is particularly useful for regulated industries and organisations where evidence that an important letter entered the postal network matters.
It is available to Postworks customers regardless of company size. Before ClearSend®, this type of data was generally limited to larger organisations sending post directly through a Royal Mail business account.
Businesses can now send letters online and view the relevant postage record without needing their own large scale postal operation.
Why Postworks built a simpler digital post service
To mark the launch of ClearSend®, Postworks held a food and wine tasting event at Foresight’s offices in The Shard, London.
“ClearSend® is another chapter in Postworks’ plan to reboot a 500-year-old industry by providing unprecedented visibility.”

About Postworks
Founders James and Marvee-Lisa started Postworks after asking why post could not be made better.
Postworks was founded in 2017 after the pair were told by the industry that they would not succeed. To save on start-up costs, James and Marvee-Lisa moved into their offices and slept in what later became the boardroom, using a local gym for showering facilities.
At the time of this announcement, Postworks served more than 4,000 organisations across the UK. The company provided a digital mail service for sending and receiving business post and had become the UK’s first carbon neutral postal supplier.
ClearSend® continued that work by giving customers clearer records and more control over an important part of their business communications.
